Senior Software Engineer · DevSecOps Engineer

Daniel Widrick

I write simple software to solve complex problems. At work, you’ll find me writing scripts and programs to integrate aerospace-aware sensors with situational-awareness interfaces. At home, you’ll find me writing control logic for medical-grade pumps in an attempt to make the perfect mixed drink.

I hate printers, but I’m here to help. I pride myself on unblocking users and developers with secure and sustainable yet flexible solutions. I’ve been deep in the world of compliance, and I don’t shy away from scripting and automation. Routers and firewalls don’t scare me. It’s the weekend rum and an exercise routine that keep the stress at bay.

I dabbled in the botnet scene when I was young and foolish. Now I wear a blue-team hat. The need for security is pervasive in the modern digital landscape. I offer secure solutions that minimize risk but don’t stand in the way of progress or productivity. I’ve survived a few attacks and always come out the other side basically unharmed… though some nights it’s hard to sleep while the enemy knocks at the door.

    Senior Software Engineer AX Enterprize

Senior engineer on SAFIRE/CLUE, a real-time airspace-awareness platform integrating aerospace sensors for DoD and commercial UAS markets. Designed and implemented core backend services in Go: authentication and SSO, the track storage and replay pipeline, and hot/cold data archival. Also wrote the engineering tooling in Go and Python - a high-performance packet fan-out router for sensor feeds, UTM and kinematic track simulators for testing, and an offline terrain and imagery generation engine for air-gapped deployments.
